Virgil Murray is currently serves as the Executive Director of the Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation where he is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization, and leads the mission, vision and strategies of the Foundation while translating the Foundation's goals into the overall program of work. Prior to joining the Maynard Jackson Youth Foundation in 2010, he served as the School Administrative Manager and Partnership Coordinator for the Arthur M. Blank Foundation's Pathways to Success program at the New Schools at Carver, Program Director for the East Lake Community Foundation and Research Coordinator for Morehouse School of Medicine where he managed community-based research projects.
Mr. Murray has served on numerous boards including the Piedmont Park Advisory Board for the City of Atlanta as well as the past Vice-President of the Neighborhood Planning Unit (NPU-N). He currently serves on the Go Team (board) for Maynard Jackson High School and Board of Overseers for the Ben Franklin Academy.
Mr. Murray is married to Fredalyn Frasier and has one son. He has an undergraduate degree in psychology from Georgia State University and attended graduate school at the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University.
